Para responder à pergunta, a reportagem ouviu Celso Unzelte, historiador do Corinthians. Na opinião do jornalista e autor do Almanaque do Timão, o Timão de 2015 se destaca pela coletividade, mas não é capaz de superar o futebol apresentado pela “Seleção Alvinegra” campeã em 1998 e 1999.

– Aquele time era mais espetacular. O time do futebol que a gente sonha. Esse time do Tite é competente, é bem arrumado, mas mesmo a vitória contra o Galo foi muito mais tática do que técnica. Nisso o time do Tite é perfeito. Esse time de hoje fica marcado por Tite, Elias, Jadson e Renato Augusto, que carregaram todos os problemas desse time. Falamos que é um coletivo, um time do técnico, não dos craques. Coletivamente, talvez este time seja até melhor do que o de 98 e 99, mas ali a individualidade resolvia – disse Unzelte.

– Acho que esse Corinthians do Tite está bem postado e se baseia em contra-ataques. Corinthians de 98 e 99 tomava a iniciativa. Se o critério é fazer três no Galo, o time de 98 fez cinco no Galo lá (Atlético-MG 1 x 5 Corinthians, em 8/8/1998). Tudo bem que era um Galo mais fraco… A principal diferença está na proposta de jogo. O Corinthians de 98 e 99 tinha craques em todas as posições – completou.

Pela primeira vez, o Corinthians levantava o caneco de campeão brasileiro. O time treinado por Nelsinho Baptista tinha como destaque a raça dos jogadores, já que não esbanjava qualidade técnica. Embalado com gols do artilheiro Neto, o Timão fez uma primeira fase regular e, no mata-mata, derrotou Atlético-MG, Bahia e São Paulo. Tupãzinho fez o gol do título.

Sob comando de Vanderlei Luxemburgo, o Corinthians dava sinais do que viria a fazer nos anos seguintes. Com um time envolvente e ofensivo, liderou a primeira fase e, no mata-mata, despachou Grêmio, Santos e Cruzeiro. Marcelinho Carioca foi o artilheiro do time, e Dinei, o herói das finais.

Tido como o melhor time da história do clube, o Corinthians (com os recém-contratados Dida e Luizão) voltou a fechar a primeira fase em primeiro lugar. Venceu Guarani, São Paulo e Atlético-MG no mata-mata, sendo o último jogo um 0 a 0 dramático contra os mineiros. Luizão foi o goleador da equipe e Oswaldo de Oliveira, o técnico.

2005 (42 jogos, 24 vitórias, 9 empates, 9 derrotas, 87 gols pró, 59 gols contra)
Chamado de “Corinthians Galáctico”, por conta do pacote de contratações proporcionado pela parceira MSI, o time entrou no Brasileirão como favorito. E não decepcionou. Tevez, Nilmar & Cia deram ao Timão seu primeiro título brasileiro da era dos pontos corridos. Márcio Bittencourt comandou o time por boa parte da competição, e Antônio Lopes assumiu na reta final. Tevez foi o artilheiro.

2011 (38 jogos, 21 vitórias, 8 empates, 9 derrotas, 53 gols pró, 36 gols contra)
​Mordido após passar em branco em 2010, ano de seu centenário, o Corinthians de Tite se destacou pela coletividade: Júlio César, Chicão, Alessandro, Ralf, Danilo, Emerson Sheik, Liédson… Diversos jogadores tiveram participação na conquista do penta. Adriano Imperador deixou sua marca na reta final, e Liédson foi o artilheiro. A “final” aconteceu contra o Palmeiras, no histórico 4 de dezembro de 2011, dia da morte de Sócrates.

2015 (35 jogos, 23 vitórias, 8 empates, 4 derrotas, 63 gols pró, 26 gols contra)*
​Mais uma vez sob comando de Tite, o Corinthians se sagrou campeão superando saída de ídolos e desfalques ao longo da competição. Com atuações de destaque de Jadson e Renato Augusto, o Timão jogou um futebol envolvente e pôde soltar o grito de “É campeão!” com três rodadas de antecedência. Jadson e Vagner Love disputam a artilharia do time.

Brighton are seemingly among the favourites to sign Harry Wilson from Liverpool in the current transfer window.

As reported by Sussex Live, the Seagulls are among the leading contenders with some bookmakers to secure a deal for the 23-year-old, who is reportedly keen to leave Anfield, having played just once for the Reds so far.

The Mirror reported earlier this month that the Premier League champions want £20m for the Wales international, who is seeking regular top-flight football and who has seemingly been made available for transfer by Jurgen Klopp.

In his first campaign at Premier League level in 2019/20, Wilson struck seven goals for Bournemouth but was unable to save them from relegation. That figure is qualified by the fact that six of his haul came before the end of November, with his last league goal the one he plundered against Brighton back in January (as per TransferMarkt).

Nonetheless, Neal Maupay was the only Seagulls player with a higher goal tally last season, while goals were in rather short supply from the right winger role often played by Wilson. Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Aaron Mooy both scored just twice last term, with the Australian not even being a bespoke option on the right flank as he usually plays through the middle.

Wilson could certainly offer Brighton a greater attacking threat – aside from his goal tally, his match average of 1.8 shots was beaten only by Maupay of those players already at the Amex Stadium. However, his 0.5 key passes per game average and 76% passing accuracy read rather shabbily when compared with the respective figures boasted by Graham Potter’s squad during the 2019/20 season.

Also, the Welshman has still had just one campaign at top-flight level, so there may be some question marks over the wisdom of paying £20m for him.

Wilson has shown that he can score goals at Premier League level, while Brighton are decidedly weak in that department from the right-hand side of their attack.

On that basis, the Welshman would certainly be worth pursuing. However, the burning question is whether the Seagulls could justify paying £20m for him, particularly with football clubs set to have their spending curtailed by consequences arising from the global pandemic.

A festa de aniversário de 120 anos do Flamengo foi consagrada no último domingo, com o amistoso diante do Orlando City, onde o Rubro-Negro venceu por 1 a 0. Foi o fim da comemoração especial, que ficou durante todo o sábado na Gávea e no domingo iniciou na sede do clube e terminou no Maracanã. Em um geral, as atividades foram bem válidas e emocionaram, cada uma de certa forma, o principal interessado: o torcedor.

No sábado, a presença de torcedores de todo o mundo, integrantes das Embaixadas da Nação, arrepiou quem estava na Gávea. Tive a oportunidade de conversar com alguns dos 700 embaixadores (membros de 60 embaixadas), que contaram histórias de amor pelo Flamengo, cada um com sua cultura, que nunca chegará ao seu fim.

Já no domingo, as missas glorificaram a fé sempre apresentada pelos rubro-negros. Mesmo com a turbulência do time na temporada pelos resultados aquém do esperado, a paz predominou na Capela São Judas Tadeu, localizada na Gávea.
