وحسب صحيفة “ذا صن” البريطانية، فإن تشافي يُخطط لضخ بعض السرعة والطاقة في الفريق الذي تراجع في المرتبة التاسعة في سلم ترتيب الليجا.

وقالت الصحيفة إن تشافي طلب من برشلونة، أن يتحرك للتعاقد مع الإنجليزي رحيم ستيرلينج، جناح مانشستر سيتي، ومدافع إشبيلية جول كوندي، لتعزيز صفوف الفريق في نافذة الانتقالات الشتوية القادمة.

Newcastle should have got the cheque-book out to sign Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the summer transfer window.

What was the story?

The Telegraph claimed back in late August that the Magpies were one of the clubs interested in signing the England international, with the Gunners seemingly open to a sale of their academy product.

However, it was revealed Steve Bruce’s side had been put off by the £25m valuation placed on his head, and with fellow Premier League outfit Wolves also refusing to match that fee, Maitland-Niles stayed put at the Emirates.

Versatility would have been key for Bruce

Whilst Maitland-Niles may be being used a left wing-back at Arsenal these days, his versatility would have been something that Bruce would surely have appreciated at St James’ Park.

Able to play in either full-back/wing-back role, or even further forward out wide or in central midfield, the England international is the kind of player every squad would love having.

In fact, former Gunners ace Jeremie Aliadiere waxed lyrical about Maitland-Niles, saying: “I rate Maitland-Niles really highly. I like the fact that he’s so versatile and technically he’s very good and confident on the ball. The fact that Maitland-Niles can play anywhere makes him priceless to the team.”

Bruce and Newcastle saw what the Gunners ace can do first-hand, when he played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s 1-0 triumph at St James’ Park last season, providing the assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s winner in an all-action display. Playing at right-back, he also won ten of his 17 ground duels and made four tackles and three interceptions too as per Sofascore.

He may have cost £25m, but when you think of the sheer number of positions he could have filled in for at Newcastle, then it really seems like they missed an absolute steal.

Leeds United had a great transfer window this summer and while their near-£100m outlay saw them add a plethora of new talent to their ranks, it shouldn’t be forgotten that they missed out on their number one target.

Indeed, Ben White isn’t a Leeds player after a summer-long transfer pursuit, and it seems as though they may never land him.

The centre-back, rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, has predictably taken to the Premier League like a duck to water after a somewhat shaky start in his first two games.

White has really come into his own in recent weeks, and his performance against West Brom over the weekend showed that perfectly.

The Seagulls star was brilliant against the Baggies, making four tackles and three interceptions, while his ball-playing abilities were abundantly evident as he completed two dribbles and had a pass accuracy of 91.7%.

One of the main things White was criticised for last season was his lack of aerial presence, with Noel Whelan saying:

“He is not as dominant in the air as centre-backs like Harry Maguire and Pontus Jansson. But he is better on the ball than Jansson and just as good as Maguire.”

However, he’s seemingly improved on that this term as well, winning five aerial duels against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Leeds may have landed Robin Koch and Diego Llorente at centre-back, but they should still be kicking themselves over the fact that White didn’t come through the door.

He was so highly rated at Leeds and it was easy to see that he was a ready-made Premier League star, with Whelan often waxing lyrical about him.

“Ben White ticks every box,” Whelan told Football Insider. “He is a brilliant defender who’s only going to get better in the years ahead. He does everything really well – mobile, athletic, great distribution, confident on the ball, makes good decisions, his positioning is good.”

The fact that he’s been touted as a potential Virgil van Dijk replacement at Liverpool tells you all you need to know about him, he’s a top-quality defender and at the age of 23, he still has room to improve.

Leeds may forever regret not breaking the bank to sign him.

Não é de hoje que o Fluminense vem utilizando Xerém como um aliado na formação do elenco profissional. Em 2015, primeiro ano sem a parceria da Unimed, que colocava muito dinheiro na contratação de jogadores consagrados, a diretoria resolveu apostar em meninos como Marlon, Gustavo Scarpa, Marcos Júnior, Gerson e Kenedy e eles se firmaram no grupo principal. Para 2016, a aposta será num quarteto que brilhou pela equipe Sub-20, conquistando o título brasileiro da categoria: Ygor Nogueira, Léo Pelé, Douglas e Danielzinho.

Os três primeiros já estão na equipe profissional desde o meio desta temporada. Léo Pelé foi quem mais teve oportunidades e mesmo como uma fratura no pé direito, terminou o ano como titular. Nogueira e Douglas tiveram poucas chances de jogar, mas já se ambientaram. Já Danielzinho, subirá agora.

– Converso bastante com eles (ex-companheiros de Sub-20 e que agora serão nos profissionais). Pergunto se o jogo do profissional é muito diferente das categorias de base e o que eles falam é que não. Que é só jogar como jogava na base, sem inventar muito, manter a tranquilidade que tudo vai dar certo e que o grupo também ajuda bastante – explica Danielzinho, que foi o camisa 10 do time na conquista do Brasileirão Sub-20, em entrevista ao LANCE!

E o primeiro ano sem a antiga parceira só não foi financeiramente mais complicado graças aos moleques de Xerém. Conhecido por formar bons garotos na base, o Tricolor conseguiu vencer o meia Gerson para a Roma por 17 milhões de euros (R$ 73 milhões na cotação atual). Destes, o clube teve direito a 70% do valor. Já Kenedy saiu por 10 milhões de dólares (quase R$ 40 milhões na cotação atual). Neste negociação, o Flu embolsou 50%.

Um dos motivos que fez o técnico Eduardo Baptista aceitar a proposta do Fluminense foi poder trabalhar com as categorias de base, integrando-as ainda mais ao elenco profissional. A tendência é que, aos poucos, os moleques de Xerém ganhem ainda mais espaço.

– Fui apresentado a ele (Eduardo Baptista) lá nas Laranjeiras. Ele foi um cara muito tranquilo. É simpático, me orientou para descansar nas férias, chegar bem preparado para a pré-temporada. Disse que contava comigo para o ano que vem – conta Danielzinho.

Se esses meninos derem certo como os últimos que surgiram da base, não vai faltar é garimpeiro nas próximas temporadas buscando as joias de Xerém.
