It wouldn’t soon be a transfer window without West Brom being linked to a former loan star, only this time, he could be everything they need to kickstart and salvage their struggling season…

What’s the word?

According to ChronicleLive, Dwight Gayle is very much still a player on the Baggies’ radar going into January and they claim that a return to the Hawthorns may seem likely if the 30-year-old does not renew his contract at Newcastle United.

His current deal is set to expire in the summer, so the Magpies may look to cash in on his services next month should he not feature in Steve Bruce’s long-term plans.

Last season, Albion tried to bring Gayle back to the Midlands but the talismanic striker wanted a fair crack at the Premier League on top of the potential finances involved that would have been way out of their reach.

If Luke Dowling and Slaven Bilic are wanting to spark a reaction both on and off the pitch, then they should absolutely push to sign the £7m-rated marksman. They know all too well what they’d be getting and the fans would surely love to see Gayle back in a Baggies shirt.

During the 2018/19 season whilst on loan, Gayle spearheaded Darren Moore’s attack, leading to 23 goals in just 39 appearances as West Brom made the Championship playoffs.

Indeed, his overall goalscoring record is pretty respectable too, bagging 92 goals in 239 appearances across the Premier League and the EFL, via Transfermarkt.

Kyle Bartley was one Albion player who witnessed his first spell and he told BirminghamLive all about the striker’s impressive ability, he said:

“Dwight is a proven goalscorer and he is always going to get you goals and his work-rate off the ball is also immense. His movement is fantastic and you know at all times he wants to score goals and you know any little lapse and he is going to be in. I think he is very sharp and fit and has come in looking very dangerous.”

Karlan Grant’s summer switch to the Premier League outfit has failed to pay dividends thus far, scoring just once in seven starts whilst no other player has scored more than twice yet this term, via WhoScored.

Gayle is currently on £40k-per-week wages at St James’ Park, which would put him among Albion’s highest earners, though if the club can successfully offload Charlie Austin and his £52k-per-week salary, then it could free up a potential loan move – if not a permanent and free swoop in the summer.

أشار إلى أنه سيعمل على علاج بعض الأخطاء الفردية وعدم التركيز خلال المباريات المقبلة لنادي بيراميدز، في ظل ضغط اللقاءات مع مرحلة صعبة في مشوار الفريق بالدوري وكأس الكونفدرالية، والمشوار ما يزال طويلا وبالإمكان التعويض وكل الفرق ستخسر نقاط والمهم عدم خسارة أي نقاط مستقبلا”.

Speaking to West Brom news, Phillips said:

“If you could guarantee he was going to stay fit for the rest of the season, I would certainly consider it because he gives you a different style.

There might be a lot of people who say ‘oh this is going to be route-one football’ but it’s about winning a football match and if that means bringing in a 6ft 5 or 6ft 6 centre-forward and you play a different style of play, we know Andy Carroll on his day can be unplayable.

It’s just whether you can guarantee keeping him fit and for me, it’s a gamble. If you put all your eggs in one basket in getting him in and he gets injured in the first few weeks, you’re back to square one.

Ultimately, it might be a gamble worth having a little nibble at because they need to do something. It hasn’t quite worked for Karlan Grant. I know you’ve got Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu but someone like Andy Carroll – who obviously Big Sam knows – could be a good option. But I’m not sure that if he stays fit, Steve Bruce would let him go with the situation they’re in as well.”

Would this be a good signing for West Brom?

The forward has played 336 times in his career, scoring 79 goals and picking up 50 assists (Transfermarkt). He can be a target man, but this isn’t the best goalscoring record for a striker. The 31-year-old constantly struggles to play regularly and the Baggies should be looking for a forward who is performing well right now.

Carroll is also very injury-prone, so it would seem like a very risky signing, one that would just seem like the club are wasting money on wages, something they cannot afford to do in their situation.

Emil Krafth betrayed Steve Bruce by producing an invisible performance at right-back in Newcastle United’s FA Cup third round defeat at Arsenal on Saturday night.

Bruce recalled the Sweden international to his starting line-up as one of a raft of changes from the Magpies side which lost at home to Leicester City a week prior, having decided to initially hand current favourite DeAndre Yedlin a rest at the Emirates Stadium.

But Krafth’s night lasted just 68 minutes before being replaced by Jacob Murphy, having ghosted around the field in north London without leaving any impact on proceedings.

Krafth had proven to be Bruce’s favoured right-back in the cup competitions by starting three of the Toon’s four Carabao Cup ties, yet had struggled to establish himself in the Premier League with three starts in four appearances from a possible 16.

Bruce will have no immediate plans to trust the £3.5m-rated dud after his shocking display at Arsenal, where he could not create a thing going forward and looked entirely off the pace when retreating towards Martin Dubravka’s goal.

Joelinton could also be tarnished with the same brush as Krafth during the Brazilian’s 81 minutes at left-midfield, with Newcastle hero Alan Shearer blasting his former side’s £40m record signing for “offering nothing”.

Yet Joelinton had at least been full of running up and down the left-channel and held the ball up well to bring other United players into the action, which could not be said for his teammates who often left the 24-year-old isolated.

Krafth had no excuses for his torrid night in north London and firmly betrayed Bruce entirely through his own doing, leaving the £58,000-per-week dud left to face yet another spell out in the cold.

The 24-cap Sweden international contested a mere four duels during his time on the field, winning two, while turning over possession on eight occasions and making a single attempted dribble, per SofaScore.

He further misplaced two of his three attempted crosses, was dribbled past as often as he completed a successful tackle, made one clearance and offered a measly 10 accurate passes from 13 attempts.

Krafth’s performance ensured there was no doubt in his number being shown at some stage as Bruce looked for a way to beat Arsenal in their own backyard, and it will likely be some time yet before his name next features in a Magpies starting line-up.

– O traficante e sua quadrilha tinham uma boate locada dentro do complexo da Arena. Temos ordem judicial fazendo as buscas de documentos e dinheiro – explicou o delegado Mario Souza, da 1ª Delegacia do Departamento Estadual do Narcotráfico (Denarc).

A quadrilha seria comandada por Juliano Biron da Silva, de 33 anos, que foi preso em janeiro em Balneário Camboriú (SC). Ele também é suspeito de matar um fotógrafo em julho do ano passado.
