It would be fair to say that Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham’s loan deal to Marseille has not gone as he would have envisaged.
The Frenchman joined the Ligue 1 outfit in January to the exasperation of former head coach Andre Villas-Boas, whilst he has only made five appearances for the club since.
As a matter of fact, he has not played longer than 45 minutes in any of his appearances for his adoptive employers.
Amidst suggestions that his spell in Marseille is not going to be extended beyond the end of the campaign, Football Insider now indicate that Ntcham no longer wants to be a Celtic player.
Certainly it’s now time for the Hoops to cash in on the three-time Scottish Premiership winner.

After arriving from Manchester City in 2017, the 25-year-old has made 147 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 24 goals. He had previously drawn praise from the likes of former Celtic manager, Neil Lennon who labelled the French midfielder as “fantastic”.
However, his contributions have dried up completely in recent seasons, missing 34 league games alone in each of the last three campaigns due to a combination of injuries, poor form and managers’ preference for others. In that time, Ntcham has contributed just eight goals.
Now rated at £3.15m by Transfermarkt, his value is only going to decrease after his disastrous spell with Marseille and a potential lack of football back with Celtic.
Before any more depreciation occurs, it would surely be a smart move from the Glasgow club to cut their losses on Ntcham and sell him.
After all, the Hoops are not going to feel any benefit of keeping him at Parkhead should he not wish to represent Celtic any more.
It would be a sad end to Ntcham’s stint with the club – and certainly not one that either he or the Hoops hierarchy will have envisaged.

وبحسب صحيفة “ديلي ميل” البريطانية، اتصل ليفربول بماني البالغ من العمر 29 عامًا ومسؤولي المنتخب السنغالي لتوضيح موقفهم ولكن ليس لديهم القوة للمطالبة بعدم مشاركة ماني.

كما أصر طبيب فريق السنغال عبد الرحمن فديور على عدم وجود ارتجاج في المخ، وقال في بيان: “اختفت جميع الأعراض التي كان يعاني منها داخل الملعب، كل شيء طبيعي على الآشعة السينية”.
جميعة “هيدواي” المتخصصة في إصابات الدماغ أكدت إن صحة ساديو ماني معرضة للخطر، وطالبت الفيفا بإظهار الريادة في هذه القضية من خلال التدخل.
سيقود زميل ماني في ليفربول، محمد صلاح مصر ضد المغرب في ربع النهائي الآخر اليوم.
كانت الكاميرون المضيفة أول فريق بلغ نصف النهائي، وسجل كارل توكو إيكامبي هدفي الفريق الذي فاز على غامبيا 2-0.
كما تأهل منتخب بوركينا فاسو على حساب المنتخب التونسي بهدف دون رد، مساء السبت.

Jogando no Estádio da Ressacada, o time catarinense venceu o Paysandu por 2 a 0, com gols de Marquinho e Renato, na noite desta sexta-feira. Resultado foi péssimo para o Papão que pode ficar mais próximo da zona de rebaixamento ao fim da rodada.

Mesmo atuando fora de casa, o Papão começou ditando o ritmo de partida, porém faltava criatividade na hora do último passe. Apesar de estar melhor, Lucas fez pênalti em João Filipe e o Paysandu viu Marquinhos bater no meio para abrir o placar. Antes de ir para o intervalo, o time catarinense conseguiu ampliar com Renato, de cabeça, após cruzamento de Marquinhos.
Na etapa final, o Paysandu voltou pressionando e quase diminuiu no começo, porém Renan salvou o Avaí. Romulo não deixou barato e quase fez o terceiro. O problema do time paraense ainda era na criação das jogadas. Com a vantagem, o time avaiano segurou o resultado até o apito final para garantir os três pontos na noite desta sexta-feira.

Former Crystal Palace striker Marcus Bent has told The Transfer Tavern in an exclusive interview that he expects his old side to get good money for Wilfried Zaha if they sell him in the summer.
Zaha could be on the move in the next transfer window, with 90min reporting that Arsenal are set to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old winger.
Palace’s £80m valuation of their star man back in 2019 proved to be a stumbling block for Arsenal and was a fee that no team evidently wanted to pay.
Even so, Bent believes Palace will still be able to get a large sum if they do decide to sell Zaha this summer and expects the club to reinvest it.
On the Ivory Coast international’s possible departure, the retired Premier League footballer said:
“Will he go? I don’t know. But if he does go, I think he’d go for a big price tag and I think that Crystal Palace will have to replace him. I think they’d get a good price tag and bring in a couple of players, but the players that they do bring in won’t be superstars. They will be players that just work within the team.”
Zaha may not be the only Palace player who departs Selhurst Park this summer. The likes of Christian Benteke and Patrick van Aanholt are set to be free agents, while manager Roy Hodgson will also be out of contract come the end of the season.

Two early first-half goals were enough to see ten-man Queens Park Rangers to victory this weekend, but it could’ve been a different story thanks to the sorry display of one struggling Hoops star.
Defensive duo Rob Dickie and Lee Wallace – who scored his first-ever goal in the Championship – had the west London outfit two-up inside 20 minutes before Middlesbrough grabbed one back before the break.
Mark Warburton then saw his goalkeeper, Seny Dieng, sent off on the hour mark as he brought down Ducan Watmore with a rash and late challenge, though he can be forgiven as it was his bravery and impressive shot-stopping that had kept QPR in the match until that point
In fact, the 58-year-old revealed the coveted gloveman was actually playing with a broken nose and his replacement, Joe Lumley, equally stepped up to the plate and delivered.
Warburton can count his lucky stars that they walked away with three points, let alone one – or at worst, none – because young defender Osman Kakay proved to be a liability in the back three.
Indeed, the 23-year-old was graded as the Rs’ worst-performing player on the afternoon, as per SofaScore ratings, where he was given a 6.1 and that was lower than Dieng (6.5), too.
Something that would be backed up by West London Sport in their post-game review. ‘Started at right centre-back and was given the runaround on occasions by the wily [Yannick] Bolasie,’ they wrote.
Kakay struggled immensely with the threat of Bolasie and Watmore, losing four of his five duels (80%), both on the ground and in the air. He also earned a yellow card for his troubles – the only other player to receive a booking besides the sent-off goalkeeper.
In addition to that, the Loftus Road academy graduate was hugely wasteful in possession, losing the ball 20 times, which was the most of anyone that featured and six more times than any other visiting Rs star, as per SofaScore.
It means the right-sided defender lost the ball once every 2.5 touches and once every 4.5 minutes, so it’s no wonder that Boro edged possession (51%) as the QPR ace regularly gifted the ball back to the home side.
Kakay was also poor in the passing game, making just 57% of his 37 attempts, comfortably the worst of any QPR starter besides Lyndon Dykes, but strikers aren’t supposed to be outstanding in possession compared to a centre-back who needs to play the ball out from the back.
All in all, Warburton is lucky that Boro didn’t punish this shocking display further as it could have certainly seen them drop a valuable three points.
Kakay’s performance very nearly cost QPR and his place in the starting XI must be questioned going into Tuesday’s game with Swansea City.

Steve Bruce must block Jacob Murphy from leaving Newcastle United at the end of the season amid doubts about the winger’s long-term future.
What’s the word?
According to Football Insider, Murphy is not expected to become a free agent this June as he actually has another year reaming on his current contract.
But that is not a guarantee the 26-year-old will be at St. James’ Park next season, as Magpies chiefs are yet to decide on if he will stay at the club once the transfer window opens.
Murphy has been expected to become a free agent in June with it thought that his £25,000-per-week deal expires this summer.
Reports by Chronicle Live earlier this month also claimed that Newcastle are in active talks with Murphy over new terms, in an attempt to avoid losing the winger for no compensation.
Toon boss Steve Bruce has even remarked on Murphy’s impending status as a free agent, noting via quotes by The Shields Gazette: “I sincerely hope that we tie Jacob Murphy down.”

Should Newcastle retain Murphy?
It seems unlikely that Murphy would be under contract at Newcastle through to 2022 rather this summer with Bruce openly discussing his desires for new terms, but the doubt over the forward’s long-term future would remain either way.
Bruce must therefore lobby the Magpies hierarchy to retain Murphy, as the £3m-rated dynamo has proven to be a crucial player at St. James’ Park this season despite rarely starting Premier League games.
Murphy has only opened 10 of his 19 top-flight appearances this term and been left on the bench (7) or omitted from the squad (5) more often than introduced as a substitute (9), but he has shown to be capable of delivering a game-changing impact.
Bruce hailed the former Norwich City forward for his dramatic equaliser and claimed “he was arguably our best player” against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in October, when Murphy fired home a late free-kick to snatch a point.
It failed to see Murphy become one of the first names on the teamsheet, yet Bruce acknowledges the “big part” he has played this season and praises the forward for ticking all he boxes as he’s “young, hungry [and] determined to do well.”
That hunger led to telling contributions from the bench when Wolves visited Tyneside in February, setting up the equaliser in stoppage-time against Aston Villa in March, running himself into the ground against Tottenham Hotspur and earning praise from Alan Shearer after scoring Newcastle’s first at Burnley last weekend.
His performances against Spurs and the Clarets this month each came at full-back while his displays against Wolves and Aston Villa showed the offensive creativity he can offer, and why Bruce must block Newcastle from letting Murphy leave this summer.
