A 20ª rodada da Série B teve início nesta terça-feira, com o jogo entre Santa Cruz e Criciúma. O Tigre venceu a Cobra Coral por 2 a 1, de virada, e conseguiu se aproximar do G4, que consegue o acesso para a primeira divisão de 2018. O Tigre ocupa a sexta posição, com 29 pontos, enquanto que os pernambucanos estão no 16º lugar, com 23, colados no Z4.

O jogo começou bastante equilibrado. Tanto Santa Cruz quanto Criciúma tentavam propor jogo e criavam oportunidades. Os mandantes, no entanto, foram quem abriram o placar, com André Luiz, depois de boa jogada pela esquerda. Na comemoração, uma cena peculiar. O jogador foi tentar pular a placa publicitária e acabou colidindo com a mesma, se machucando na região do joelho.

Alex Maranhão, aos 30 minutos, acertou lindo voleio, depois de cruzamento de Erick Flores, para colocar os visitantes na frente no final da partida.

Com o resultado, o Criciúma colou de vez no G4. O Tigre ocupa a sexta posição, com 29 pontos, dois a menos que o Ceará, quarto colocado. Já o Santa, com a derrota, se viu mais pertoda zona do rebaixamento. O clube de Recife está no 16º lugar, com 23 pontos, apenas três a mais que o Figueirense, 17º colocado.

Sri Lanka selectors have dropped the country’s top three top run-getters in the Women’s World Cup in Australia from the 14-member squad for next month’s World Twenty20.The players dropped are team captain Shashikala Siriwardene, opening batsman Dedunu Silva and all-rounder Suwini de Alwis.Siriwardene topped the run-scoring list with 72 runs (at 18.00), and was followed by Dedunu with 68 runs (at 17.00) and Suwini 65 runs (at 16.25). The Latest: Harrison tipped to be left out

A win is much-needed against a Wolves side who have won their last three league matches and it will be interesting to see how Marcelo Bielsa’s starting lineup looks.

Speaking to Football Insider, Phillips , 48, claimed Harrison could be the man to make way, allowing Raphinha and Dan James to start out wide, even though he didn’t rule out the prospect of all three starting:

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Bielsa played all three [Raphinha, James and Harrison] to go all-out to win the match. But if someone were to make way, it would have to be Harrison.

“With James coming in for big money, you’d like to think he will start. Raphinha will play, he’s one of their best players.

“I would have thought it will be a straight swap for Harrison.”

The Verdict: Right decision?

Harrison hasn’t made a big enough impact yet this season, failing to score or register an assist in six league appearances to date.

For that reason, Bielsa leaving him out would feel justified, allowing Raphinha and James to prove their worth and show that they should be the first-choice wide pairing moving forward.

Given the former’s brilliance, both for Leeds and Brazil, and the latter’s big-money move from Manchester United in the summer, it certainly feels like that could be the case moving forward.

أعلن نادي أهلي جدة السعودي تعيين جان فان وينكل مستشارًا فنيًا لفريق الكرة خلال الفترة المقبلة.

ويستعد فريق الأهلي للمشاركة في دور الدرجة الأولى “دوري يلو” بعد هبوطه من بطولة دوري كأس الأمير محمد بن سلمان للمرة الأولى في تاريخه.

وكان الأهلي قد هبط لدوري الدرجة الأولى عقب تواجده في المركز الخامس عشر برصيد 32 نقطة في الدوري السعودي للمحترفين في الموسم الماضي.

وينتظر أن تبدأ منافسات دوري الدرجة الأولى يوم 22 أغسطس وسيلعب الأهلي مبارياته في دوري يلو على ملعب الجوهرة المشعة.

أصدر مجلس إدارة النادي الأهلي قرارا بتعيين الخبير البلجيكي جان فان وينكل، مستشارا فنيا للنادي الأهلي، خلال المرحلة المقبلة.

يحمل وينكل، شهادة “البرو” وترخيص الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (UEFA)، وتخرج بدرجة ماجستير في علوم الرياضة من جامعة لوفن.

ويملك وينكل، سيرة ذاتية مميزة، حيث عمل سابقاً مديراً فنياً للمنتخبات السعودية في الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم خلال الفترة من 2015 وحتى 2018 ويعمل مستشارا فنيا بالاتحاد الإماراتـي لـكـرة القـدم مـنـذ 2018.

ولـدي وينكل تجارب سابقة مع الأندية السعودية بـدأت كمساعد مدرب مـع نـادي الهلال في موسم 2004، كمـا عـمـل سـابقا في النادي الأهلي السعودي خلال الفترة من 2012 وحتى 2014 م، ولديه تجربة سابقة في نادي بروج البلجيكي منذ 2001 وحتى 2011، كمـا عـمـل فـي الفريق الأول بـنـادي مارسيليا الفرنسي في موسم 2015.

Here’s hoping the rain stays away from Durban because the first of two matches on Thursday features teams that are favourites to make the semi-finals based on early form. Delhi Daredevils, tipped to go all the way even before the IPL started, began strongly by beating Kings XI Punjab by ten wickets. Chennai Super Kings shrugged off an indifferent outing against Mumbai Indians and scored a 92-run victory against Bangalore Royal Challengers.What makes this game potentially terrific is the contest between Delhi’s power-packed batting line and Chennai’s high-quality bowling attack. Virender Sehwag launched a merciless assault on Punjab’s bowlers during their short chase and the other weapons in Delhi’s arsenal – Gautam Gambhir, AB de Villiers and Tillakaratne Dilshan – were not even needed. However, Chennai possess the bowlers to test such a batting line-up. In Andrew Flintoff and Muttiah Muralitharan, they have two wicket-taking bowlers who are unlikely to concede too many runs. Their support cast of Albie Morkel, Manpreet Gony and L Balaji isn’t easy pickings either.If one was pressed to pick a favourite from tomorrow’s encounter, it might just be Chennai. They too possess a hard-hitting batting line-up, with powerful batsmen sprinkled all the way through the batting order, and the likes of Matthew Hayden, MS Dhoni, Andrew Flintoff, Albie Morkel and Suresh Raina will look to take advantage of Delhi’s inexperienced bowling attack. Delhi chose not to play Glenn McGrath in their opening game and the younger fast bowlers struggled to contain Punjab’s openers until Daniel Vettori came into the picture.Player form guideChennai: Hayden is currently the highest runscorer in the league, with 109 runs at a strike-rate of nearly 156 in two games. He wrecked Bangalore by scoring 65 off 35 balls but even that effort wasn’t enough to clinch the Player-of-the-Match award. That honour went to Murali, who knocked Bangalore out with a spell off 3 for 11 in four overs.Delhi: Vettori single-handedly changed the course of the match against Punjab. He struck with his first ball and finished with figures of 3 for 15. Loads of Liverpool fans have been left furious on Twitter as reports claim a number of Reds superstars could miss as many as eight games due to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been in simply blistering form so far this season, as the former became the first Reds player in history to score in nine consecutive matches thanks to his brace in Madrid on Tuesday.

The Egypt international has now bagged 12 times and added four assists in all competitions this term, while Mane has been no slouch either, chipping in with six goals.

Of course, fears have been prevalent amongst the Liverpool fan base about how many matches the pair could miss this winter, along with Naby Keita, and now The Athletic are reporting that number could be as many as eight.

According to the report from Adam Leventhal, AFCON participants will leave their Premier League clubs soon after the final whistle blows on the Boxing Day fixtures due to FIFA rules, and may not return until the second week of February.

With Harvey Elliott injured, this will leave Jurgen Klopp with few options in attack during the hectic winter fixture period, likely having to rely on the likes of Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino to deputise through January.

Em fase final de tratamento de fraturas em duas costelas sofridas em 19 de julho, na partida contra o Avaí, o meia Jadson reapareceu em campo nesta quarta-feira, primeira de duas semanas sem jogos que o Corinthians terá na temporada. Uniformizado, o camisa 10 apenas acompanhou as atividades ao lado do médico Júlio Stancati, sem realizar esforços, mas mostrou que está mais próximo de voltar à equipe. O próximo jogo do Timão é contra o Vitória no dia 19, exatamente um mês depois da lesão, e Jadson já pode ser considerado dúvida para este compromisso.

No CT Joaquim Grava, foram sete desfalques no treinamento desta quarta além de Jadson: os lesionados Pablo, Moisés, Mantuan e Marquinhos Gabriel e os desgastados Pedro Henrique, Balbuena e Camacho, sendo que o último nome da lista até iniciou os trabalhos no gramado, mas deixou após alguns minutos.

Com 26 jogadores à disposição, o técnico Fábio Carille dividiu o grupo em dois para um trabalho técnico em espaço reduzido e com os goleiros trabalhando com os pés em que a grande novidade foi o zagueiro Vilson, recuperado de lesão. Depois deste trabalho, os atletas do Timão disputaram um treino coletivo em meio campo, 11 contra 11 já sem contar com Vilson e os goleiros Matheus e Caique, além do atacante Carlinhos ter atuado como curinga. Neste treino, o comandante montou um esboço do time titular.

Cássio; Fagner, Paulo Roberto, Léo Santos e Guilherme Arana; Gabriel e Maycon. Romero, Rodriguinho e Clayson; Jô formaram o time titular, com os seguintes nomes no banco: Walter;Léo Príncipe, Ameixa, Fellipe Bastos e Marciel; Rodrigo Figueiredo; Pedrinho, Giovanni Augusto, Danilo e Clayton; Kazim. Este último trabalhou durou cerca de 30 minutos e o treino inteiro foi intenso, de 1h30.

Após a atividade, Fábio Carille conversou com três ex-jogadores que fazem estágio no clube nesta semana, que são Maldonado, Alfinete e Guilherme, todos com passagens pelo Corinthians, e alguns jogadores participaram de uma disputa de pênaltis com um torcedor especial e atenderam torcedores.

O Corinthians volta aos treinos na quinta-feira, novamente pela manhã, e ainda trabalha mais um dia antes de um fim de semana de folga.

Their impetus, once again, was provided by Dwayne Bravo, who continued his fine form from the IPL with an aggressive 51 not out from 30 balls in a total of 143 for 6. He came to the crease at 60 for 2 in the 11th over after the demise of Andre Fletcher, who made 42 from 34 balls, and then it was over to Darren Sammy with the ball, who took 3 for 25 in three overs to derail Scotland’s prospects in the run-chase. Two early run-outs had already set them back, and though Colin Smith made a run-a-ball 40, when he and Neil McCallum fell in consecutive deliveries, the latter to yet another run-out, there was no way back, despite two sixes in six balls for Jan Stander.At Canterbury, Bangladesh bounced back from their loss to New Zealand on Wednesday to beat Netherlands by 64 runs in Canterbury.
